It seeks to explore the root causes of mental health challenges in a keen bid to profer amelioration and solution. As an organisation, it is intentional in its approach to address the emotional and structural impediments that block access to the healing of victims.

At Azu-Eri Mental Health Foundation, we believe that every individual deserves to discover their self-worth and live a fulfilling life. We create safe spaces for victims of abuse, with a defined goal of empowering both the young and old to break negative cycles.

You are the reason why we are inspired to do what we do, because we genuinely care and believe in the truest version of your inner strength. So let's join the honest conversations that reminds and guides us to not only discovering unparalleled peace but to DISCOVERING SELF-WORTH.

The Meaning of Our Logo

Our logo is more than an image or shallow expression of art. It is a reflection of all forms of emotional realities that exist within a family unit. It also reflects the silent impact of upbringing on the mental health of children who inevitably grow into adults.
Every colour, shape and detail was intentionally inserted and designed to tell a concisely packaged emotive story, in its truest form.

The Head

The head represents a defined distinction of colours between the two genders, with the white colour scheme symbolizing the peace of co-existence.

The Blue

This colour scheme is intentionally used to represent the male gender who are charged with the traditional role of being leaders, within their family units.

The Closed Eyes

The closed and firmly sealed eyes symbolizes an expression of visual silence, to blind the subject of mental health.

The Sealed Lips

The intentionality behind this conceived concept is to reveal an emotive visualisation of the impact of societal grooming, especially on the male gender. It represents a precursor to teachings which inadvertently miseducates on a need to suppress any expression of emotional pain and vulnerability, which ultimately leads to emotional avoidance.

The sealed lips also firmly symbolizes the struggles of many in speaking out against the impact of the emotional, psychological and physical abuse suffered at both the hands of primary care givers, parents, partners and spouses.

The Pink

Unlike the blue colour scheme, the pink represents the female gender. The logo intentionally places their position at the back of the head, in alignment with the spaces that society traditionally assigns to them. It illustrates the enormous societal emphasis on responsibilities and expectations, especially within a family setting.

The White

The flowing white line that separates both figures in the center, is an intentional representation of peace, healing and communication of unity between two divides. It portrays an understanding of emotional openness. It affirms the possibility of reconciliation and healing where there is a genuine attempt and intent.

The Heart

In spite of the "behind" position that most of society have encased the female gender in, the placement of the heart in her mind symbolizes the societal expectation of emotional nurturing, love, care, sensitivity, compassion, empathy and emotional awareness that is needed to fruit relationships.

The Protrusion

The irregular protrusion, at the back, symbolizes the unseen burdens that most people humbly carry through their daily existence. These include traumatic experiences, emotional and psychological abuse.

INTERNATIONALITY OF THE CHOICE OF THIS LOGO
AND ITS COLOUR SCHEME

This logo foundationally reflects the mission of our organization which is to raise awareness on;

  • The mental health of both genders.
  • The psychological and emotional impact of the negative as against the positive parenting pattern of a child.
  • Recognition of toxicity, within a family unit, and its often unrecognised everlasting reshaping of a person's personality.
  • Truth, reconciliation and healing.

At Azu-Eri Mental Health Advocacy Foundation, we are emotionally and passionately concerned by the factual statistics of both the World Health Organization and the United Nations which states that;

“1 in every 8 people, in the world, lives with a mental disorder.”

This translates to an approximation of around 1 billion people living with some form of mental health condition, worldwide. Anxiety and depression rank amongst the most common disorders, according to this study. Studies also show that 1 in every 7 adolescents, aged between 10–19 has experienced one form of mental disorder, noting that this ailment is amongst the leading causes of disability worldwide.

The World Health Organization has statistically stated that 75% of people living in low-income countries currently do not have access to any form of treatment for mental health conditions.

According to another study by the United Nations global study, Mental disorders are among the leading causes of disability worldwide, with 1 in every 4 predicted to experience a mental health condition, at some point in their lifetime.  In spite of Mental health affecting everyone, including those who are yet to recognize its effects on their behavioural patterns, the world has continued to suffer in silence partially out of outright ignorance, denial and a palpable fear of stigmatism.

Azu-Eri Mental Health Advocacy Foundation exists to turn the spotlight on the hidden struggles of the 1 out of 4 smiling faces. As mental health struggles have been proven to be deeply connected to the impact of encouraged silence, we are not only committed to unsilencing this unhealthy silence, but are also committed to encouraging healthier conversations that reshape a generation's understanding of discovering self-worth.
